*SOLD OUT* Facilitating and Chairing Effective Meetings with Confidence

Unfortunately this training workshop is now full to capacity. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please e-mail Jo Goldsmith (jo@thejlc.org).

Leaders today understand that executive presence, active listening and the self-awareness of the impact their behaviour and emotions have on others are essential skills to have.

Confidence in leaders’ ability to facilitate and chair effective meetings can be derailed when they are put on the spot, by one aspect of communication that often goes unrecognised - the ‘non-verbals’.

Research states that over 90% of what people remember are the non-verbal factors of communication: how you look and how you sound. These factors can reduce the impact and effectiveness of what you say in meetings, specifically leading discussions, ensuring everyone gets a chance to talk, responding to questions and handling objections.

Annette Kurer is an experienced coach who will deliver a session filled with tips, techniques and practical exercises help you master the skills to facilitate and chair meetings in a competent, dynamic, and engaging manner.

Cost: £95 for JLC member organisations, £110 for non JLC member organisations

The course will be held in a NW London venue, which will be disclosed nearer to the event.

  • • Learn where your nervous energy oozes out of you, diminishing the impact you have on the meeting participants.

    • Develop greater executive presence and confidence to speak up, be heard and guide the conversation.

    • Actively listen to participants and acknowledge their contributions, whilst ensuring that discussions stay focused.

    • Use verbal and non-verbal cues to show that individuals' viewpoints are valued, fostering a culture of respect and openness.

    • Learn how to handle objections and interactions that may threaten to derail the meeting.

  • At the end of the course, participants will come away with the following:

A greater self-awareness of how they look and sound under pressure when facilitating/chairing a meeting

    • The confidence to facilitate and chair effective meetings

    • The ability to actively listen, build rapport and guide the conversation forward in an inclusive manner to achieve the desired outcomes

    • Tips and techniques to handle objections and interactions and keep the meeting on track

    • Filmed exercises showing skill development (filming will be done using participants’ own phone and each participant will only have video footage of themselves)
