Sir Victor Blank is a Vice President of the Jewish Leadership Council.

Sir Victor’s career encompasses 12½ years as a Partner of solicitors Clifford-Turner (now Clifford Chance); 17½ years as Managing Director, Chief Executive and Chairman of Charterhouse (including 8 years on the Board of the Royal Bank of Scotland); Chairman of Trinity Mirror which is the UK’s largest newspaper quoted publishing group; Chairman of GUS plc which owned Experian, Burberry, Argos, Homebase and Lewis’s Stores of South Africa; and Chairman of Lloyds Banking Group, which under his chairmanship became the largest U.K. retail banking group. Sir Victor Blank is a Senior Advisor in the U.K. to TPG Capital.

Sir Victor was a member of the Financial Reporting Council, Chairman of the Industrial Development Advisory Board and the first external member of the Council of Oxford University.

Sir Victor was knighted for services to the Financial Industry in the New Year’s Honours List in 1999.

Sir Victor is a British Business Ambassador, appointed under each of the last two administrations.

He is a Trustee of the Oxford University Said Business School, an Advisor to the Environmental Change Institute of Oxford University, Vice President of Oxford Philomusica, an Advisory Board Member of the Global Leadership Foundation, an Advisory Board Member of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. He also chairs three charities, Wellbeing of Women, UJS Hillel and Rothschild Foundation Europe.
