Empowering Leadership: DSLP Workshop Explores Strategic Challenges and Launches Community Think Tank

On Sunday November 12th, Lead’s Dangoor Senior Leadership Programme (DSLP) cohort joined co-directors Larry Shulman and Michelle Janes for a workshop at Nightingale Hammerson, in Hampstead Garden Suburb, North-West London. The group explored aspects of strategic leadership including turning strategic thinking into action and the S-Curve.

Following lunch and a tour of a wonderful communal facility, the group welcomed JLC CEO Claudia Mendoza who discussed some of the strategic challenges facing our community, in conversation with Michelle. This session also provided the launch for the DSLP’s Community Think Tank. The aim of this group task is to stimulate new thinking around key strategic challenges facing the Jewish community. DSLP participants have been assigned to smaller working groups and they will compose proposals in the coming weeks which will be presented to the JLC Council in early 2024.

Following the session, members of the cohort fed back how much they had enjoyed being back together in person and that earlier part of the session spent reflecting on how the situation in Israel has impacted on their leadership and organisations had been especially valuable.

One member also said, “Each session I attend just gives me more and more confidence in my leadership…..I find it a good thinking space and a very welcoming group and trainers.”

The group continue to work with programme coaches on their Personal Leadership Development Plans while preparing presentations on communal challenges, and mentoring members of the Adam Science Leadership Programme. The cohort comes together again for a residential at the end of January 2024 which will include part 2 of their Windsor Leadership component.
