Laura Marks was a planning director of AMV.BBDO, before deciding to work full time on social cohesion when she set up Mitzvah Day in 2005. Elected Senior Vice President of the Board of 2012-2015, Laura became Chair of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust in 2016. Laura co-founded the Jewish Muslim women’s national network, Nisa-Nashim, more recently the multi-faith Women’s Faith Forum and is on the UK steering group for Freedom of Religion or Belief. She is a regular broadcaster, most frequently heard on Radio 2s morning Pause for Thought. Laura was awarded a CBE in The King’s first Honours list in 2023 for her work on interfaith relationships, Holocaust and genocide education, and Women’s empowerment.
